Speak Your Truth Today began as a vulnerable Facebook post when I shared my own experience with domestic violence in 2019.
The post went viral and was shared over 123,000 times. Hundreds of survivors were reaching out to me – sharing their own stories of abuse or seeking resources. Completely overwhelmed, I created a confidential Facebook group called “Speak Your Truth” with hopes it could be a healing and empowering space.
It’s incredible to see how far we’ve come. Speak Your Truth Today achieved 501(c)3 status in May 2021. Over 70% of members report that our group has provided them encouragement and support on their healing journey, and we’ve been able to help about three people each week escape abuse.
